WARNING: This article is written by a stupid American with absolutely no understanding of the sport. As far as I’m concerned, Rugby consists of hairy men running around with no type of protection and beating the piss out of each other. So what is it?

The Scotch Egg is essentially a shelled hardboiled egg, wrapped in sausage rolled in breadcrumbs and deep-fried. Normally it’s served with salad and pickles.
