THERE'S AN APP FOR THAT?

A NAUGHTY NURSE ($.99) by McApps is the latest crop of "not quite porn" porn apps to be approved by the Apple powers that be.
Similar to its soft core film brethren, it's not all T&A. There's actually a plot:
You're a single guy hitting the slopes on X-mas Eve. Though thanks to a mogul misjudgement you end up in the intensive care unit - all by your lonesome. Well, except for a whole ward of naughty nurses for you to oggle.

If you have some coin to burn you could snag one of those diamond encrusted, gold iphone covers, but why stop there?  With designer jewelry extraordinaire Peter Aloisson you can transform your 3G into a one of a kind work of art. Peter literally makes jewelry out cphones. Check out what he’s  iDone to the iPhone

MORE 3.1 TALES OF HORRORS.

by Greg Colfaz (NWM Staff Writer)

Yo, from Cottonwood Idaho. Still haven’t updated my iPhone yet – on account of my PC computer sucking an all. Here are 3 other ghoulish tales of tech about 3.1…

I upgraded my 3G to software 3.1 last night. Right at the upgrade onset I got the 2006 error that required a reload of iPhone OS, then I restored all my content. Went to bed, it worked fine for about 4 hours this morning and as of about an hour ago, it shuts down after about 5 minutes of inactivity. I then have to hold down home and the wake/sleep button for 10 secs to make it reboot.

Random shut-downs occurred after OS 3.1 update. Only a reset will make it work. It happened once yesterday and about six times today. On the most recent attempt to reset, the battery was completely drained. It had been at around 80% charged three hours earlier, on the last time I'd successfully used it.

I was browsing in Safari and locked the phone using the top button. Second time I was listening to music and paused the music using the button on my headset. When I came to use it again a few mins later it was locked hard. Plugging it into the power doesn't elicit a response either. All this within 24 hours of the 3.1 update. I've had this iPhone for over a year and it's never done this before.

My money is on Air Horn. Here’s what your hard earned 99¢ gets you…

  • 3 classic air horn-inspired sounds – original, annoying, car and ship.
  • Quick acting stop button.
  • The ability to scare the crap out of your dog or any other small, timid animal.
  • Neat air horn graphic.
  • Easy to use interface.

IPHONE BAND ROCKS THE HOUSE! LIVE!

I remember when Mtv went through the stage of having every band perform unplugged. Tesla, Eric Clapton, Bon Jovi, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots and 10,000 maniacs were the good ones, from what I remembered. LL Cool J, not sure if that worked out. Though Mamma’s Gonna Knock You Out did have a catchy 12 string beat. Here we are a handful of decades later, and a new stripped down, raw sound has emerged – The iPhone Band. This summer the Feel AbouT band performed live, playing only with iPhones as instruments. They had hooked 'em up to amps for volume. The i-concert took place at the MotoRock bar in Tel-Aviv, Israel. What amazed me the most was not the incredible sound, or the proficiency of the e-maestros. It was the fact that half the phones were 2G (edge network). Here’s the official band/app roster.

Guitar - Guy Fisher - Frontier iShred - iPhone 3G

Bass - Aviran Rotem - MooCow Band - iPod 2G

Drums - Dror Rostami MooCow Band - iPhone 2G

Piano - Tal Aviram - Mini Piano - iPhone 2G

Vocal - Roni Weinstock

Follow Me Down is the song performed. I’d say there sound is reminiscent of the 90s Cranberries. At least for that cut. There fan site has other (non-iPhone) songs which definitely have a harder edge. You can also check ‘em out on iTunes and Amazon.
