SO WHAT’S GOT THE COMIC NERDS IN SUCH A TIZZY?

DC is currently in the midst of launching the biggest overhaul of its superhero lineup since Crisis on Infinite Earths (nerd speak for a very long time). Don't worry, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and friends are still around. They are just slightly different.

Overall the books are creating a lot of happy nerdlings! Though there is a hubbub over one of their hero/villains – Catwoman (see above). Apparently this new re-uber-vamped series, has a bit more sex appeal than some comic geeks (and their moms) can handle. See for yourself below and click here for the Newsarama article that further explains the Catwoman controversy.

  1. That's how you get me into a Batman comic. Yep.

  10. When I was 17 everyone used to tell me I looked just like Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman). I once had a drunk guy convinced I was incognito in jeans and a t-shirt from the TV set. Hahaha. Thanks again for making me blog of the day too!

  11. *on soapbox* The hubs is a comic geek and I've seen the progression of the art and the stories. I understand they're trying to draw in a new audience (pun intended?) by sexing up their characters and story lines, but really, their core audience, the ones who are trying to introduce the "new" look to their kids, probably won't now. At least, I hope not. I'm all for comics and I'm in no way a prude, but, we're bombarded with enough sleaze - we don't need comics to go totally trashy. *off soapbox*

  13. Hi! My good buddy Bouncin' Barb sent me here, and she's right about you: You are hilarious. I shall become your newest follower, and I hope you'll follow me too. By the way, CatWoman is based on me, and I've been in Robin's panties.

    Love,
    Lola

  15. Batman porn ?

If they ever make a movie I'm in. I already found Star Trek porn, but Batman is the ultimate fantasy, especially since they put CB in the rubber suit.

Two days I've followed this blog for and you keep making me think about that.

  17. I understand why they are doing it - pushing in a new direction, just like Marvel did - although since there are fans both old and young, not sure this would've been my first choice. (Doesn't bother me, but I know kids read them as well.)

  20. No wonder kids are growing up too fast these days. Never mind - scratch that. They don't read comic books anymore, do they? They're too busy playing video games.

  21. Whatever happened to the innocent good old days when Batman would have shot her in the face?
