BOUGHT MY SISTER TAMPONS – CROSS THAT OFF MY BUCKET LIST.

So I’m still in Bel Air, Maryland for that marathon Bat Mitzvah fest. It was good, thanks for asking.

Anyway, on the way back to the hotel my sister, brother in-law and yours truly make a pit stop at the 7-11. That’s the one thing I love about being away from NYC – convenience stores that are actually convenient. No Green Grocers with dusty 1970s, semi-useful cans. That being said, the florescent lighting in these c-stores I could do without.

So back to the moment at hand, my sister and I hop out of the car. I run in to get a Diet Pepsi®. She runs in for something that I didn’t know what it was at the time. After a minute, I get to the register and she’s already up there. I said I would pay for it all, seeing as I’m such a good brother. It came to $9.82 for cold medicine, a Diet Pepsi®, and yes, TAMPONS. I just bought my sister Tampons!!! Once I found out that’s what I paid for it happened. I tried to make it stop. Thought about baseball!! Thought about Shania Twain in pleather, but it was too late. The unstoppable visual seeped into my brain. And it stayed there for 3 seconds too long.

My sister isn’t ugly, but she is my sister. And now the visual of sis inserting a “you know what” to stop her "you know what" is permanently stuck in the part of the brain where that stuff exists. I just pray this imagery won't be always triggered when I see this feminine hygiene product. Wonder if the Freuds have a clinical name for my disease.

BTW…caught about no less than 7 Iron-man2 products on the shelves. My fave were the slurpies.

16 BIT DORK REPORT.

by Graphic Guy (NWM Staff Writer)

FYI…here’s a quick update on all your favorite fanboy (girl) movies on the summer slate for 2010.

THE GREEN HORNET:

The band Anvil has been confirmed for a cameo in the movie. Other talent set to star along side Seth are Ed Furlong (T2), Cameron Diaz and Edward James Olmos. Could possibly be hitting theaters this summer instead of holiday.

IRON-MAN 2:

Teaser trailer will be included with the movie Avatar. Form fitting photo released of Scarlet in Black Widow costume. Film date still on target for May 7th, 2010.

A-TEAM:

LA’s favorite underground commando unit will be hitting screens in June of 2010. Liam Neeson will take on Murdock, while Bradley Cooper (The Hangover) will be handling Faceman duties, rounding out the cast will be Quiton ‘Rampage’ Jackson as BA. Should be a cameo fest.

ROBIN HOOD:

Ridley Scott is looking for repeat magic with Russell Crowe. Also stars Cate Blanchett.

DON’T BUY ME NOW!

In recent years, digital downloads have literally put CDs on life-support, though DVDs have still managed to survive. Mostly ‘cause of the extras. Since their inception, DVDs (especially the big budget movies) have been chock full of special features like interviews, mini-behind the scenes videos, blooper reels, alternate endings and so on. Unfortunately, studios sometimes don’t release all of these cinematic bells and whistles on the first go around. Just look at movies like Iron-Man or Batman: The Dark Knight. The first DVDs did in fact have some extras, but later in the year, the studios released the absolute deluxe editions of each film. So as a fan, are you expected to spend twenty bucks now and thirty bucks later? To me that’s the absolute-deluxe rip-off. My advice is simple. If a film comes out that you totally have-to-have on DVD, wait ‘til the holiday season. No matter what, studios are ALWAYS going to try to capitalize X-mas time with new versions of the movie with even more special stuff. Though, sometimes the follow-up DVD release has different types of features. So check the stats on both versions before buying to avoid the deluxe DVD dilemma. Or just F it, and rent ‘em both on Netflix.
