Don’t ask me how I know this, but I do. DIANE KEATON (yes, the one that won an Oscar for Annie Hall) directed the music video to Belinda Carlisle's smash hit – Heaven Is A Place On Earth. You can google it if ya want, but it is true.

FYI…I’m home from work today with 100ish fever. So that might explain today’s post…or not.

DIANE KEATON: OSCAR WINNER AND MAVERICK DIRECTOR OF A BELINDA CARLISLE VIDEO.

After the wild success of Baby Boom in '87, Diane Keaton kept her creative momentum going by signing on as video director for Belinda Carlisle's smash hit – Heaven is a Place on Earth. Most, didn't know what to expect when this star (with no directing experience) took the director's chair. However, Diane totally rose to the occasion. To start, Keaton kept the budget intact by filming most of the action sequences at Six Flag's Magic Mountain in California. She also made the risky decision of having Belinda open the video wearing a button down cableknit sweater, instead of her trademark, lowcut blouse. And to keep with the raw realism undertones, Keaton surprisingly casted Carlisle's husband (Morgan Mason) as the shadowy, mysterious figure that makes out with her. Soon after the video release the single shot up the Billboard charts to #1.
