99 red balloons (Nena): This song is about 99 red balloons flying through the air that 2 military super powers mistake as a surprise attack. As a result, both countries retaliate causing a worldwide apocalypse.

    Hot dog, I have not heard this song in sooooo long. In fact I think I was too young to understand the lyrics, much less care what they were. Now it is all coming together and its crazy!

    It's so upbeat that maybe the citizens mistake the rockets and bombs for fireworks and skull-thumping bass. They have a 'vunderbar' to the destructive Dub-Step and party until it quickly ends. Love the song!

    I remember seeing that video when it first came out on MTV. They did tell the meaning behind it and everytime I hear that song to this day I think about it. Good post! Hugs.
