FRINGE OBSERVERS vs. MARVEL WATCHERS

Ok, a bit late to the table on this discussion. Did a little Fringe catching up last night courtesy of the ol' DVR. So far Fringe’s sophomore season is shaping up to be a pretty good one. The only thing that sorta gives me some ‘cause for concern is this whole Observer thing. As a lifelong comic book reader, I’m finding it a bit odd JJ would move ahead with these O-characters seeing as they are so freaky close to the Watcher ones over at Marvel. One would assume with JJ’s sci-fi and action credits he’d be a shoe in to head a Marvel hero project in the near future. Will this hurt is chances? You be the judge.

FELICITY FANFIC SITE IN NO DANGER OF BEING SHUT DOWN.

Yes, I cruise the fanfic sites from time to time. Not sure what kind of person that makes me. To be honest, it’s mostly done out of morbid curiosity. I like to see which shows people are still desperate to hang on to, and trying to recapture the magic in some way. Where’s the best place to trowel for such stories? Fanfiction.net hands down. They have like a zillion tales based on TV, movies, books, games – you name it. And yes, they do have a Felicity Fan Fiction site. Right now the section is holding its own with 38 stories. Excerpt from I NEVER KNEW YOU (close your eyes and you'll swear you're watching it once again on the WB):

When it came down to it, Felicity picked Ben. She loved Ben, she protested. She had told Noel once that no matter what she did, no matter which way she looked at it; she was meant to be with Ben. Noel disagreed completely, but who was he to say otherwise? She hadn’t wanted him. So to say that even after all these years, Noel still hated Ben Covington was a bit of an understatement. Sure it was petty and childish, but it was how he felt and he was never one to deny his feelings. Ahh yes, I can remember backpacking through Europe. It was an amazing experience, filled with art, culture and cheap hotels. Of course the one major issue I had in each country (other than no money) was the language barrier. It took me forever to figure out vital phrases like:

“Where’s the bathroom?”

“Does this blazer come in Kelly green?”

I can only imagine the problems I’d have if I was on let’s say the planet Qo'noS or the moon Praxis. I mean I know like zero Klingon phrases, except that peace thing with the fingers I can't do (that might be Vulcan). Well thankfully, I don’t have to set my iPhone to stun, just ki.org. The site has lots of everyday, helpful Klingon phrases  for any situation. They even have an audio section that actually pronounces the word correctly, so you won't embarrass or get yourself killed. And fear not fellow Federationists, new Klingon words are being added every day.
