Thank you for not sharing the same gritty details as does Animal Planet. Really, every time I breeze past that station animals are doing it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the mares are but having taken care of 4 males for a year, they were always "hanging out"! Just like a man. haha.
ReplyDeleteA lot of animals mate in the spring, and I either never realised it was because of this, or just didn't really think about it.
ReplyDeleteExcellent bit of trivia, I shall use to impress and amuse my friends with
ReplyDeleteFemales should definitely have the say!
ReplyDeleteInteresting fact, I didn't know before!
ReplyDeleteYou learn something every day!
ReplyDeleteJust mating in winter wouldn't be enough, glad i'm not pony.
ReplyDeleteI pretty much feel the same way...
ReplyDeleteThat...actually makes sense. I'm just sayin'...
ReplyDeleteThe more i know, the more i feel bad about them.
ReplyDeleteNature makes an amazing amount of sense!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had planned my pregnancies so well.
ReplyDeleteI refuse to think about mating ponies. Fluttershy isn't that kind of pony. hrumph!
ReplyDeletewell... good for them
ReplyDeletethank you for that info i feel smarter now..hehe have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteMy uncle used to be in in equine husbandry...some pictures you never get out of your head.
ReplyDeleteI hope my first born son isn't a pony. That would be hard because it's difficult to raise a horse in an appartment.
ReplyDeleteI wish humans were that smart.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure its not just because it's damn cold in winter and who the hell wants to try to get it on when you have to strip off 4 layers of clothing/pony fur to get a few minutes of action? Stallions are notoriously selfish, after all. Not to mention, we all gain a little winter weight, maybe ponies have lower self esteem during those months.
ReplyDeletemakes sense
ReplyDeleteHaving had a baby born near the beginning of February, in the middle of a snowstorm, I can relate to that mare's logic.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense to me!
ReplyDeleteThat's actually a kind of a neat fact.
ReplyDeletenice post :P
ReplyDeleteReally? Is that so....
ReplyDeleteMakes sense.
ReplyDeletesounds reasonable.
