OH NO YOU DIDDY

Hey I love a celeb owned restaurant as much as the next fella. And Diddy’s place (Justin’s) is no exception to that rule.

It’s being billed as the hot spot for upscale Soul Food cuisine. And (based on the rave reviews) Diddy is delivering the goods. That being said, my only issue with the menu has to do with one of the appetizers. Now I get he runs a posh place. So I figured the prices wouldn't be cheap. I just was a bit surprised when I discovered that the P. Diddy Shrimp goes for 12 bucks!!!!! Excuse me, the P. Diddy Jumbo Fried Shrimp is 12 bucks.

And all you get are 4 shrimps, some coleslaw, and Diddy's signature tartar sauce.

I believe Red Lobster gives you 6 shrimps for 10 bucks. Again, I'm sure the food is delish, just a smidge disappointed…Diddy.

  2. They charge what the market will bear...If people stop ordering the overpriced shrimp, they may get the message. Besides the price, all that batter and deep fried oiliness isn't my thing either.

  4. There doesn't seem anything exceptional about those shrimp. And his "signature tartar sauce" looks suspiciously like ketchup & mustard. Nice.

  8. Sounds like Diddy thinks his shrimp is rather precious. How long is his Jumbo shrimp, anyway? (I can't tell from the photo.)
..Someone had to make some sexual innuendos here, and you knew you could count on me for that. Right?

  10. That's a lot of $$$ for deep-fried, breaded shrimp. Now, if it came with a side of pepto, I might consider it . . . =D

You have a fun blog. Glad I found you.

  11. P. Diddy's Jumbo Shrimp...wow what a creative name. Haha I think the shrimp portion is $5 but you have to pay the extra $7 for Combs' royalties.
