APPARENTLY THERE’S A COMPETITIVE HIDE AND SEEK LEAGUE THAT NO ONE BOTHERED TO TELL ME ABOUT.

At least I think it’s a sport. Part of me thinks this is some type of hook-up porn thing that I’m out of the loop on. All I know about the HSL is the following…

The first game was played in DeKalb, IL on September 9th, 2009.

The games occur in these arenas …
  • WalMart
  • Holmes Student Center
  • NIU Library
  • Target
  • Waubonsee College
  • Kishwaukee College

Facebook has it categorized under "professional sports" so you know it’s gotta be the real deal.

Right now the HSL is setting up teams. The entry fee is 25 bucks. And this year’s season opener will be at a Target in the Dekalb area.

GUESS WHAT I SHOVED IN MY 40 YR. OLD BODY ON SATURDAY.

Give up? Don’t really care? On Saturday the wife and I journeyed from Manhattan Island to the Isle of Long Island City to see my buddy’s band ADRENALINE play.
THEY ROCKED!!! That being said…
We had to brave the F train ON THE WEEKEND!
Walked late at night through a deserted creepy industrial park…
‘til we finally arrived at the german restaurant / metalmania bar – Wunderbar
Immediately I ordered a big German beer with a giant head (mommy bloggers get your heads out of the gutter).
Then after perusing the menu I settled on the
wiener schnitzel ala Holstein – every bite was pure heaven!

SO WHAT IS IT?
Essentially it’s deep fried veal topped with a nice healthy fried egg – Calorie-riffic!
Add the beer and fried potatoes to the mix and that pretty much sums up my need for …

…early Sunday morning. Still worth it. Every bite of it.

A DOUCHEY DID YOU KNOW: FACEBOOK Edition

I’m not suggesting that anyone try this at all. If ya did, I'm 72.8% sure all of your friends and family would think you’re a total douche. But c’mon, don’t you just get the urge to do something like this at least once?
Am I evil for having this thought?

SIMPLE SADISTIC FUN WITH FACEBOOK

What I am about to suggest is HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE – First class ticket to hell worthy. That being said, the evil part of me thinks it would be kind of a hoot. Here’s what I’m thinking: Simply give a “thumbs up” to a marginally tragic Facebook statement. See Example below.

PLEASE NOTE: Before attempting use your best judgment. There are obviously some truly horrific situations you should never Thumbs Up.  Oh, and also make sure the FB person posting the statement has a sense of humor.

Best of luck and let me know how it turns out.

HEY TREE HUGGER!

We have all heard the term. Basically Tree Huggers are those who oppose the logging industry. Their ultimate goal is to preserve our forests, so they can be enjoyed for generations to come. Corporate suits (with a generous supply of cops) tend to use this term as they are hosing down a bunch of these protesters chained to trees. However, I recently discovered that there is a more direct meaning of Tree Hugger. The term could also refer to someone who suffers from Dendrophilia. It is a condition in which an individual is sexually aroused by trees. Upon further research I was NOT able to determine if the disease has different classifications – Oak Dendrophilia, Christmas Tree Dendrophilia, etc. Either way it must be extremely rare, because at present the D-word has only one Facebook group devoted to it.

YEP, THERE’S A FACEBOOK PAGE FOR THAT.

NBC – The More You Know. Ahhh, memories. The PSA premise: take a bunch of NBC primetime stars and have them dispense 5+ seconds of advice and wisdom to us kiddies. Then end it with a flying star docking into the mothership NBC logo [That’s at least the way I envisioned it as a kid.] My personal fav. was the one that featured a young Will Smith. Did you know that The More You Know has been around for 20 years? And yep, someone on Facebook is celebrating that momentous occasion with a group. “So check this Facebook group page out, ‘cause it could help you save your friend's life!” [cue star and music]
