Before we had internet if you wanted to surf you had to do it on cable. So let’s just say I clocked in some pretty crappy shows. To make matters worse I used to have to go channel surfing with a WIRELESS remote like this. Poor baby I know. It was one big carpal tunnel torture.
The making of Lethal Weapon 2: Pee Wee Herman had a cameo since they were filming on the WB lot….oh and a light hearted Mel Gibson?
The making of the “Happy to Be Stuck with you” video by Huey Lewis and the News: No comment.
The making Johnny Mnemonic (1995): I’m probably most pathetic for watching this poor man's version of the Matrix because dial up internet was around by this time. I could've been on Persian Kitty.
Dang it. All I had to do was see the title of the song and it's now in my head.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had that image in my head of a remote control like that one in forever. We had the same thing. Wow! You really take it back! Love that you have Huey Lewis in this post. I have had "I like the nightlife. i like to boogie" in my head all damn day. Thanks to you, I will go to sleep hearing, "I can see (I can see) that you're happy to be stuck with me!"
ReplyDeleteThanks, Copyboy.
I want a new drug!!!
ReplyDeleteI am glad I didnt grow up in that time. lol.
ReplyDeleteI get scared when I think of life before the internet. I wouuld be so lost.
ReplyDeleteDamn that remote control looks Ancient!! It should be in a museum or something haha..I would´ve gone crazy watching "making of" all day

ReplyDeleteWe def. have more viewing options but are we any wiser? Jersey Shore? Come on!
ReplyDeleteDid you by chance eat ding dongs while watching those making of specials? ...Thanks for the props over at Evil Bruce's site.
ReplyDeleteThese are the worst! And not because they weren't fun to watch the first time, but because you usually saw them 800 times and dreaded when they came on. Cool fancy remote!
ReplyDeleteI think I was hiding behind BIG ASS shoulder pads then.
ReplyDeleteloved the dial in connections
ReplyDeleteI miss the old HBO days. PS I can't believe we used to have to press on those buttons when we wanted to change the channels and that cord never reached the couch.
ReplyDeletehaha brings me back to the days
ReplyDeleteI remember the old 80's ghetto cable boxes.
ReplyDeleteI remember those too. Not really any more convenient than the huge silver knobs on the tv set. My fav thing back then was TX instruments game systems.
ReplyDeleteso much matrix
ReplyDeleteWHOA. I know kungfu
ReplyDeleteGreat trailers! :D
ReplyDeleteI even remember the days when HBO or Cinemax would show a new movie over and over and over and over. Stayed up to watch Urban Cowboy for the fourth time the day it premiered on Cinemax.
ReplyDeleteOh Huey Lewis! He is so hot. Even still. I had a big thing for him. Thank you for this. And yes I remember these days all too well. Even when you used an antennae on the roof to get 6 whole channels. Now I'm going way back.
ReplyDeletebefore having the internet, i went outside
ReplyDeleteOY! I remember actually having to get UP and walk over to the tv set to turn the channel!
ReplyDeletethat remote would suck
