YIPPEE! RESURRECTION OF CHRIST CANDIES ARE ALREADY HERE!

Walked into the neighborhood uber-pharmacy this week and I already saw the Easter candies displayed. Of course I don’t celebrate the Big E. I do Passover (the one where you have to eat crackers instead of bread for a week). Though that doesn’t mean I can’t partake in the sugar sweet sins of Eastery goodness. I’m over 18 so I can buy whatever I want in any store. OR I can just wait ‘til my officemates bring in leftovers on Monday. Anyhow here’s what Easter candy I’ve seen so far … and 10 days later you'll witness the resurrection of my big belly.

  1. I told my kids we could do Easter this year (in addition to Passover). I had to convince my youngest that eating a chocolate bunny did not mean believing in Jesus.

Still trying to figure out how the two go together.

  5. The only way we *celebrate* Easter is getting together with family for the kids to find eggs. Other than that, it's just another over-commercialized holiday.

  6. Man all these look so delicious except the peeps. Whenever I see peeps it reminds me of Francis from Malcolm in the Middle eating 100 of these.

  10. I have a violent nature towards peeps. I don't like the taste but I do enjoy lighting them on fire or melting them in the microwave.

  11. Bruce has already consumed 8 packs of marshmallow peeps and I've bought 2 single Reese's PB Eggs for me. I don't celebrate it anymore since my baby is 30 this year and he's in CT and mad at me anyway. I try to send my granddaughters something but this year the Easter Bunny is broke. Everything is so commercialized isn't it?

  18. Like most Christian celebrations, Easter began as a pagan holiday. Peeps look so cute and cuddley, but I hate the taste! Have a wonderful Passover. God bless.

my favorite, jelly beans and the creme eggs. Have you ever seen the movie Chocolate? I love the scene after the "church service" on Easter, when they celebrate Pagan style. One of my favorite movies.
