I’M SEMI-SURE I SAW GARY OLDMAN WHILE WALKING TO WORK THIS MORNING

To be honest I’m not really much of a fan of the G-man. It’s not that I don’t like him, I've just haven't seen a lot of his films. The only ones I can remember are The Batmans, The Harry Potters, The 5th Element, Murder in the First, Lost in Space, True Romance…hey, you know, I actually might be a fan of his after all.

REASONS I AM SEMI-SURE IT’S GARY OLDMAN…
It’s NYC (there are a crap-load of celebs here).

I was walking in the douchey, arrogant part of NYC.

He’s wearing a jacket and a shirt, but NO tie.

He’s got some retro-cool thing going on with his jean cuffs.

He’s wearing a Hasidic Jewish hat even though he’s not Jewish (that’s such a quirky celeb thing to do).

He had a hurried pace (guess Gary thought I recognized him).

Since Gary wasn’t wearing a coat (and it's chilly), my gut tells me he’s in the area today. So I might try to snap some more i-photos at lunch. I’ll keep ya updated.

FYI…I was sporting my cool, indifferent face when Mr. Oldman walked by (see photo below for reference).

  1. Also, he played Sid in "Sid and Nancy"; Sid supposedly killed Nancy at the Chelsea Hotel in NYC. Perhaps he was returning to the scene of the crime.

  2. Cool. Possibly very cool. Have to wait for confirmation for it to officially be 'very'.

  9. It looks like him, and being in the douchey, arrogant part of NYC does increase the odds.

  10. Gary Oldman is so cool that if you're RIGHT it was him, readers should salaam you forever in their minds. (That's salaam you, not sausage you.)

  14. I don't know him, but you got a good shot and a well reasoned argument.
If that's your indifferent expression, I'd hate to see your different one.

  17. He also has that arrogant swagger, an "I'm too important on my way to do too important things" look about it.

Yeah, what they said above: Bram Stoker's Drac, and loved him as Sid. I never get tired of watching Fifth Element either!

  19. I'd have never recognized him....sure looks like you've got a good argument going there, though. If you see Richard Gere, please let me know....pronto! ;)

  21. That is so weird, because I had the exact same experience here the other day. A guy walked in front of my car and he looked like an aged version of Oldman's 'Sid Vicious'. And then I realized it was my drawing instructor fram art college, so maybe that is why he looked familiar.
Most of Oldman's recent stuff is B-rated, but when he was doing films like "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead", "Sid and Nancy" and Romeo is Bleeding, he was fan worthy. Now he just seems to be a side-kick, character actor. - G

  22. I'm more surprised that you know what a Hasidic Jew hat is. I would have just called it a hat or.... yea, a hat.
