IS JABBA THE HUTT MALE OR FEMALE?

by Biz-Boy (NWM Staff Writer)

Jabba the Hutt is a 600 yr. old gangster that eventually meets his demise to a bikini clad Leah in Return of the Jedi. Probably one of the most asked forum questions (I’ve seen) has been this – If Leah was in fact part of the sex harem, did Jabba take advantage of her? Of course, this spawns the next logical question – Is Jabba a boy or a girl? It is sorta hard to tell from the body. From my extensive research I unfortunately didn’t get an answer to the Leah question. However I was able to answer the latter. Which might actually shed some light on the first quandary. Here's what I learned about the Hutts as a species…

Adult Hutts have a similar physiological make up to that of a gastropod (snails and slugs), which means they have no rear limbs.

Similar to marsupials (kangaroos) Hutts have pouches to nurse their young.

Infant Hutts are the size of an orange, and live in the parent’s pouch for decades until fully developed.

A Hutt becomes a full adult upon reaching age 100.

The average Hutt lifespan is over 1000 years.

Sex Stuff:

Hutts are hermaphroditic, meaning they have both sex organs.

As a result of having both reproductive organs, Hutts have the ability to take on the gender role of their choice (in most cases they will choose male).

Most Hutts are asexual which usually results in self-impregnation.

After conception, Hutts will switch to the female gender to properly carry and care for her young.

So did Jabba get busy with Leah?

Based on the information presented, I’d say I’m 79% in the “NO” camp. However, other reports did say that Jabba the Hutt had a thing for humanoid chicks, but didn’t go into details about if he acted on said urges.
