In 1989 you couldn’t twist the FM dial without hearing "Bust A Move". The smash hit penned by Marvin Young. Though most know him better as Young MC. The single topped the charts and netted YM a Grammy. He also teamed up with Ton Loc to co-write "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina". Unfortunately Young's follow up albums didn't fare quite as well in the ever-changing hip-hop scene. Still as a songwriter YM kicked off the new millennium by churning out a platinum hit “Not That Kind” for songstress Anastacia. Today (at age 42), Young MC has left the East Coast/West Coast rap scene for a more serene, Arizona. That doesn’t mean he’s about to trade his soundboard and mixer for a shuffleboard court and prune cocktail. YM is still busy touring and was recently part of WKTU NY’s Beatstock concert. He also made guest appearances on the Weakest Link and VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club. And of course is still bustin' out albums. His 7th album (Adrenaline Flow) is in stores now. Beat that Vanilla Ice!
