8 THINGS I’M 72.8% SURE YOU DON’T KNOW ABOUT COURT APPOINTED ANKLE BRACELETS.

1- SCRAM Bracelets (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor) are very popular with stars dealing with drug & alcohol problems like Lindsay Lohan and Andy Dick.

2- These bracelets monitor the alcohol level in the bloodstream by testing the skin perspiration every half hour.

3- The electronic monitoring device was invented by a group of Harvard scientists in the 1960s.

4- The team was lead by twin brothers R. Kirkland & Robert Schwitzgebel.

5- The black button on an electronic bracelet is used to test the monitoring system to ensure it’s working properly.

6- The first house arrest sentence that made use of the electronic bracelet was in 1983.

7- Electronic monitoring bracelets cost around $1500.

8- In 2007, approximately 130,000 people sported some type of electronic monitoring device.

  6. Pffft....I'm here on my own - not from Ian's - because I come here every day. (Though Ian did write up a really nice post about you! How much did you pay him? You know, just so I can match your contribution!)

  7. I'm not from Ians! And I haven't gotten to his blog yet to know why so many people came to you from him. $1500 dollars seems like a lot of money for a fashion accessory. :]

  11. So Ian is claiming you are going to make my day 3-4 times each day. I'm not sure my husband would appreciate that statement, but I am willing to let you try.

    No pressure.

  14. ABAO... is that true? Lots and lots of people SHOULD be monitored for the amount of cologne/perfume they wear!
