Looking for a really, really, really rich dessert? This one truly takes the cake. Serendipity (in NYC) has created the Golden Opulence Sundae. It’s chock full of the finest stuff that are probably only known to the top tax bracket peeps. First, they start with a couple of scoops of Tahitian vanilla ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla beans. Then, they mix in chunks of rare Chuao chocolate straight from Venezuela. Forget the rainbow sprinkles and the cherry. This dessert is drizzled with the worlds most expensive chocolates, from Amedei Porcelana. Plus garnished with candied fruits, gold covered almonds, chocolate truffles and marzipan cherries. But wait, there’s still more. Nesting on top of the vanilla ice cream is none other than a 23 karat gold, edible leaf and a dish of sinfully, sweet Grande Passion caviar (served with a mother of pearl spoon and a gilded sugar flower). And yes, they don’t skimp on the stemware either. This king’s ransom of a dessert comes served in a Baccarat crystal goblet (yours to keep) with an 18-carat gold spoon (not yours to keep). Reservations for this ice crème de la crème must be made 48 hours in advance.
