MEMORIAL DAY WIENER PICK

Sorry God, but Oscar Mayer® might have trumped you with this invention. A plump, juicy hot dog injected with creamy Kraft® cheese. Delish, and only 140 calories!!!

  1. Genius! I'm sure I'd be scalded by molten cheese though, so I'm afraid...

  5. Anyway we could stick a sausage in the middle of it too?

  6. I'm skeptical. Is "injected cheese" kinda like cheese in a can?

  7. I find the cheese-dogs to be totally overrated. The cheese is more like nacho cheese than anything else.

If you actually want some cheese on your dog, then do yourself a favor and do it right way. First, toast the bun. Second, get a nice, flavorful cheese, and put some in the bun! Thinly-sliced obviously works better. It doesn't have to be anything fancy - I'll use a Salsa or Garden Jack, but even a basic cheddar (anything besides American) works well. And finally, if you boiled the hot dog, wait as long as possible before adding it, since it'll make the cheese soggy. If you grilled it, then just throw that bad boy right in.

  8. I remember growing up as a kid my mom would splurge on the Oscar Meyer hot dogs with cheese in them. It was like a yummy piece of heaven on a bun.

  9. We were never allowed to have this brand of hot dog. My mom always said they were the "cheapest" brand of meat. It was always Hebrew National or Boar's Head.

Not very Kosher - dogs with cheese on 'em. Right?
