ANGRY RETIREE OP-ED: IMPROPER USES OF HELLO KITTY & FRIENDS.

by Barry S. (NWM Staff Writer)

First time I came in contact with Hello Kitty was back in ‘81. I bought my 8 yr. old daughter a pencil and paper set featuring the iconic friendly feline. Back then kid graphics stayed put. They wouldn’t think of venturing into [R] territory. Maybe you could make a case for J. Rabbit or Veronica & Betty Underoos®, but that doesn't even come close to today’s sub-standards. Not sure if I got something with this promiscuous Joe-Camel theory or I’m being a tad Amish. No disrespect meant to my Pennsylvania neighbors that make a pretty decent pretzel and Whoopie pie.
