I AM A JEW, AND I LIKE CHRISTIAN ROCK.

I’m not talking the Christian-crossovers like Stryper, Creed or Amy Grant.  Though I do admit the high point of my morning commute is power-walking to Amy’s “Baby, Baby” and “Every Heartbeat”.  No, what I’m referring to are the true Holy Heavies like KUTLESS.

“Praise Jesus!” lyrics aside all of their tunage does have a catchy beat and a suprisingly hard edge. And even though I’m not a true member of the New Testament club (the book not the band) I feel like the message still speaks to me. Do something good for your fellow man, have faith, help an elderly lady cross the street – all that crap.

KUTLESS SUPREME:

Band began in 2000

Produced 6 studio albums

In 2005, single “Strong Tower peaked at number 4 on the Hot Christian Chart

In 2006, the song “All Of The Words” was featured in an episode of Scrubs

Wal-mart will be giving away a FREE Kutless video with the purchase of Donald Trump’s Apprentice game for the Xbox.

WHY KUTLESS?

The name Kutless is based on the (Romans 6:23) bible verse "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Meaning: Christ took our cuts leaving us – Kutless!

CURRENT KUTLESS LINE UP:

Jon Micah Sumrall - lead vocals, acoustic guitar, piano (2000-present)
James Mead - lead guitar, backing vocals (2001-present)
Jeffrey Gilbert - drums (2005-present)

  1. This is kind of funny cause I'm planning on doing a thing on Christian music on Monday. Kutless wasn't going to be one of the groups though I do like them.

Interestingly enough, I'm a Christian who likes traditional Jewish music. Though most of the songs I know were sung by a Russian singer. Go fig.

  2. This Jewish gal also enjoys some of the soft, meaningful Christian music. But there's nothing like traditional Klezmer or the standard never-ending hora to get the party started.
    Shalom!
