I’m not talking the Christian-crossovers like Stryper, Creed or Amy Grant. Though I do admit the high point of my morning commute is power-walking to Amy’s “Baby, Baby” and “Every Heartbeat”. No, what I’m referring to are the true Holy Heavies like KUTLESS.
“Praise Jesus!” lyrics aside all of their tunage does have a catchy beat and a suprisingly hard edge. And even though I’m not a true member of the New Testament club (the book not the band) I feel like the message still speaks to me. Do something good for your fellow man, have faith, help an elderly lady cross the street – all that crap.

The name Kutless is based on the (Romans 6:23) bible verse "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Meaning: Christ took our cuts leaving us – Kutless!

ReplyDeleteInterestingly enough, I'm a Christian who likes traditional Jewish music. Though most of the songs I know were sung by a Russian singer. Go fig.
This Jewish gal also enjoys some of the soft, meaningful Christian music. But there's nothing like traditional Klezmer or the standard never-ending hora to get the party started.
