Common rule of thumb for movie sequels in the 80s is the trump factor. The 2nd incarnation always tried to go waaaay above and beyond the original. Sometimes it worked like with Lethal Weapon and Superman 2. And sometimes it was an Arthur 2 On the Rocks. Though one thing (to me at least) that always seemed to succeed with these 2nd helpings were the theme songs. A lot of times the first go-around didn’t feature one or the tune was kind of mellow. Not so with the sequel songs. In most cases they were fast and had a bit more anthem, 80s pop rock to ‘em. And most fitness experts agree that 80s POP music is the perfect tempo for any sort of cardio workout. Don’t have any names of these professionals, but definitely read it on a blog or two.
THE PLAN…
Download each of these sequel songs into your mp3 music player. This will give you 16 to 17 minutes of cardio time. Then simply do a hard cardio workout to the tempo of said tunes and hydrate as needed. Repeat each day, eat sensibly and watch the pounds melt away.
PREFERRED SEQUEL SONGS...
GHOSTBUSTERS 2
REVENGE OF THE NERDS 2
JEWEL OF THE NILE (Romancing the Stone sequel)
CADDYSHACK 2
The funny thing is, the gym I belong to was once called Retro Fitness. There's a big screen MOVIE ROOM that once showed all '80s movies then was purchased a year ago by a new owner. They kept the movie room but show tons of different movies. I always loved the '80s movies because when the tunes came on, my cardio sped up trying to keep up with the music :)
