This is the 1986 movie (guilty pleasure) starring Robert Redford, Debra Winger and Daryl Hannah. Rob plays Tom Logan (lawyer with good hair). He teams up with sexy-proper lawyer Laura Kelly (Debra Winger) to defend a crazy criminal with daddy issues – Chesea Deardon (Daryl Hannah). Here are 20 reasons to put it on your Netflix queue.
1- Film harkens back to the days of Hepburn and Tracy (Adam’s Rib).
2- Catchy Rod Stewart theme song – Love Touch (see video below).
3- Directed by Ivan Reitman.
4- Love Touch video features lawyer in green spandex (see below).
5- Stars quality actress, Debra Winger.
6- Daryl Hannah is in prime hottie condition.
7- Decent pyrotechnics (see video).
8- Cameo by comedian/DJ Jay Thomas.
9- Appearance by legendary character actor Grant Heslov (True Lies).
10- Got to first base with girl (on a couch) while watching Legal Eagles.*
11- Roscoe Lee Browne as the judge.
12- Rotten Tomatoes doesn't think it sucks either.
13- Robert makes it with both Daryl and Debra (at separate times).
14- Film has two alternate endings.
15- Terrance Stamp plays the baddie.
16- Brian Dennehy as a cop with an attitude (yet again).
17- Daryl Hannah looks sexy in flannel (see video).
18- Written by Jim Cash (of Turner & Hooch fame).
19- Courtroom drama and thriller rolled into one.
20- NY Post called it, “Imaginative, funny and suspenseful!” (no joke)

ReplyDeleteI only needed one reason... Robert Redford.
ReplyDeletedude I love this freakin movie! The part when they both have insomnia and she's eating everything in her house and he's doing a rendition of singin' in the rain (while they both are watching it) sooooooooo funny! You are right on about the "Adam's Rib" quality! Wooohooooo great flick
ReplyDeleteNot my cup of tea...but Daryl Hannah was indeed a hottie. So whatever happedn to Debra Winger?
ReplyDeleteHow have I never seen Legal Eagles? Time to go to Blockbuster....
ReplyDeleteI saw this way back when I was pre-teen. I can't remember it so time to revisit it. But I have to say reason #13 if it was at the same time would be a definite 1st on my Netflix list.
ReplyDeleteYour reasons are very compelling. Mayhap it's time to revisit it.
ReplyDeleteI always liked Legal Eagles for many of the reasons you pointed out, though I never got any action off it (LOL)! Always liked Rod's Love Touch, as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I'll be back to visit again.
