JUST LEARNED THAT BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS HAVE A WENIS.

The subject came up as we were waiting for someone to get on the phone for our weekly conference status call. As I was lost in thought about what I was having for lunch (responsible, non-fattening stuff or pizza) one of the juniors (1st year agency creative) slaps me on the elbow. She then announces to the whole room, “Ha! Touched your Wenis!” Everyone nervously laughed and I turned bright red. Before I could come up with a cool, yet non-sexual harassment-like response, she added, “Wenis (weenis) is the term for the extra flap of skin on the elbow. Duh!” 2 minute later another junior (account side) with a smartphone confirmed that the word is in fact in Urban Dictionary.

Later (after the client finished saying something about something), I too checked the word out on UD. It was there, I was just disappointed they didn’t offer any word origin or rationale. Is Wenis based on a sexual inside joke, like a glazed donut? Is it based on Greek Mythology? Did Brody Jenner coin the term? As a last ditch effort I thought finding the real body-part term might help. That word is Olecranon. So yeah, no dice. If anyone has any thoughts on the subject, I’m all ears…and elbows (ba-dum-ump-tsssshhhhhh).

  1. Did you know that the other side is called...Wait for it...Wagina??

Yup from UD..."the skin on the the crease between your forearm and upper arm... the opposite side of the wenis."

I have no clue who or why they are named as such.

  5. I don't know what's funnier the word wenis (I actually use this term sometimes for wiener, my friends and I have shortened it to "weenz") or the fact that you mentioned Brody Jenner. I love that you know teen/MTV pop culture. I truly do!
